This is it! I'm packing, heading out tomorrow to meet my very first grandchild: Sydney. Rachel posted on Facebook that she wanted her to come out soon but not before "Grandma Siddoway" could get there. Grandma Siddoway??? She was the woman with white hair and whisker. She's dead! And then it hit me. Now I'M Grandma Siddoway. When Elisabeth-my 17 year old-heard the news of the birth she says to me, "We buy you shaver for your chin, eh?"

As Sara remarked, this is kind of like a season finale of a sitcom. Rachel goes into labor early on the very day that Sara is heading off to University in Hawaii, her mother is a bajillion miles away in Belgium, and they have no real home yet.
